Usage Data may be retained for a shorter period, except where used to strengthen security or where we are legally required to retain it longer.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed on servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt) and may be processed by sub-processors in other countries where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), so your data remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR. Lane is the controller of your personal data.

Legal bases for processing. We process your personal data on the following bases:

  • Performance of a contract - to provide and maintain the Service you have signed up for.

  • Legitimate interests - to secure, support, and improve the Service, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.

  • Consent - where you have given it (for example, optional analytics cookies or marketing communications). You may withdraw consent at any time.

  • Legal obligation - where we are required by law to process or retain data.

Your rights. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;

  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;

  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten");

  • Restrict or object to certain processing;

  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;

  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

How to exercise your rights. Email us at security@laneapp.co. We will respond within one month, as required by the GDPR. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

International transfers. We host your data in the European Union (Frankfurt). Where personal data is transferred to sub-processors located outside the EEA/UK (such as our AI and payment providers in the United States), those transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Right to complain. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

We are actively working toward full GDPR compliance. We host customer data in the European Union, honor the data-protection rights described in the "Your Rights Under the GDPR" section above, and make a Data Processing Agreement available to business customers on request. For any request regarding your personal data, contact us at security@laneapp.co.

AI-Powered Processing

Lane may use artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to provide, improve, and support certain features of the Service.

To enable these capabilities, Lane may process user-submitted content using third-party AI service providers, including OpenAI and Voyage. The content processed may include text or other information provided within the Service for analysis, summarization, or generation of responses.

Lane does not use customer data to train its own AI models. Data shared with AI providers is processed in accordance with their respective data protection and security practices.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Business Transactions

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Law enforcement

Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

Security of Your Personal Data

The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Using Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Using Cookies, Analytics and Session Recording

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve our Services. We use them for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary - required for core functionality such as signing you in, keeping your session active, and protecting the security of the Services. These cannot be switched off.

  • Functional - to remember your preferences and settings.

  • Analytics and product usage - to understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. We use PostHog for product analytics.

Session recording. To understand how people use Lane and to diagnose problems, we record sessions within the application using PostHog. These recordings capture interactions such as page navigation, clicks and scrolling. They are configured to mask all on-screen text, form inputs and images before anything leaves your browser — so the content displayed in your workspace, including any customer data, is not captured in the recording. Recordings are retained for 30 days.

We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site retargeting. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some cookies may affect how the Services function.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 in the EEA/UK, or under 13 in other jurisdictions. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it. Where we rely on consent to process a child's data and applicable law requires parental consent, we will seek that consent before processing.

Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. If You click on a third party link, You will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

We will let You know via email and/or a prominent notice on Our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
